IQUITOS VISIT - JAN/FEB 2014

Marie-Josie Masters from the Hand in Hand trust is currently visiting Iquitos and is teaching a Child Care course. The photos on the right show her working with local parents at UGEL. Josie writes from Iquitos: ''The nurseries are in great form with all the children very relaxed. The young people from England who came over in the summer did an amazing job in decorating the buildings with huge murals in happy colours both inside and outside. Our next project is to try to get hands on a second hand bus and hopefully get volunteers to strip it and paint it into bold colours a and a mechanics to make it jungle worthy, cover the floors with child resistant floor covering, fill it up with paper pencils, paint, Lego, dolls and cars, etc and drive to needy areas for three hour shifts with two trained play workers.''
